Cole Hamels donated his enormous $9.75 million mansion to charity

Texas Rangers pitcher Cole Hamels and his wife, Heidi, aren’t just donating money to charity this year — they’re giving away a house.
According to News-Leader.com, the Hamels family donated their 32,000-square-foot, $9.75 million home in Missouri to the non-profit Camp Barnabas. The home, which sits on 100 acres, will go to the camp and benefit children with special needs and chronic illnesses.

There are tons of amazing charities in Southwest Missouri. Out of all of these, Barnabas really pulled on our heartstrings,” says Cole Hamels. “Seeing the faces, hearing the laughter, reading the stories of the kids they serve; there is truly nothing like it. Barnabas makes dreams come true, and we felt called to help them in a big way.
